Default Can anyone identify the model and year of this Rover

A friend of mine sent me this picture of this car on someones small farm. I have no idea of the condition of the truck besides the photo. I think the truck looks pretty good forbeig outside for what I think is many years. I was wondering if anyone knows what year and model this is? I was also wondering what kind of price range I should ask for it? I know alot depends on mileage and condition of interior, engine and things but I don't know if we are talking about $1000 or a $5000 truck. I really have no idea. He just showed it to me and I liked it!
Any thoughts or opinions as to what I am looking at.
Thanks so much!

Yep, FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser. Fun little trucks. Worth quite a bit restored.

Thanks for the quick replies.
Shows you how little I know about them. Do you think it would be worth my time? I don't know much about working on cars but if I could offer up about 1k and see if they take it, it might be worth the investment.
Thanks,

When dealing with unknowns, start low. If the current owner does not care about the potential of the vehicle, just offer them what salvage might be worth - $200?

Thanks. Any idea what year??
Now I have to get my friend to take me over there and ask them if they would have any intention of selling it. I think the little old lady is about 85. I'm sure she has no idea where the key or papers are.

I've got a 74, they are tanks off road, bullet proof. If you've got the time and space to restore it, could be fun, but $$$. BUT you only live once!

Check out parts prices on these websites before you dive in.

For what it's worth. There's one for sale locally that runs and they are asking $800.

Hard to tell but it looks like a Pre-'75 because the windshield wipers are mounted up high if that's what I'm seeing.

The "newer" models are more valuable (2F engine, 4-spd transmission, beefier T-Case), but the older can still be worth something if the resto is done right. I've seen straight stock resto's go for $25K, but I'm guessing that the owner's are breaking even. The one in the picture looks like a good resto-mod/trail rig since it's been out in the elements and is probably pretty rusty.

Here's a fuzzy picture of my '74 with about $5K into it and I haven't even started on the rust yet :/
