Default Catalytic convertor replacement part

What is the cheapest way to replace the catalytic convertor on the passenger side of a 95 Range Rover Classic, short wheel base? Does anyone sell a "universal" model that will fit and be cheaper?

Unfortunately there is really no easy/cheap way to replace a catalytic converter. Also, there is no "universal" model in existance (at least to the best of my knowledge). Atlantic British offers a catalytic converter for the Rover classic short wheel base here http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/NTC6127.cfm

Not cheap, but half the factory price....

You should be able to just take it to a muffler shop and have them weld in a universal cat. Unless you live in some place like california.

I used a universal to replace the driver side c.c. a few years ago, but my recollection is that a universal could not be used on the passenger side. Do you know of a universal that will work on the passenger side?

Just take it to a muffler shop and for under $200 you will get a new universal cat.
The only issue with the passenger side is the clearance, but they will take care of that.
Just tell them you need it fixed cheap.
