My CD player crapped out. I was listening to the CD, when it just stopped. The radio screen read "CD error". I tried to switch CD's but to no avail. Then I pulled over and tried to eject the cartridge. The cartridge wouldn't eject.

Is there any way to get the cartridge out?

If I need a new CD changer, what brand will be most compatible with the factory radio?

I have the same problem with my 99 Disco 1 and RR 03. While obviously not a preferred solution, Im able to eject the cartridge by pushing the cartridge in (quickly and with moderate force) and alternately trying the eject button. After repeated attempts, the cartridge always ejects. I have a friend with the same problem and its worked for him as well.

When I reload the cartridge, it goes through the CD check and usually is fine. Sometimes I've had to do this three or four times before it reset properly.

Look forward to hearing whether anyone knows the root cause(s).
