Default Compatible Engines for 2003 LR Disco ll SE???

As the subject line states, are there compatible engines other than the Buick 4.6 liter V8? Do I have a viable option?

This has been covered here and other forums ad nauseam. Do a search. Your choices are: rebuild yours, replace yours with used or rebuilt, source a LR diesel from out of the US, have another type of engine (Like an LS or Cummins) installed custom, or do it yourself.

10-4. I have a 03' GMC that I gained a while back as salvage. The engine has 67k miles on it. It is a 4.3 ltr. V6 vortex in this truck. With the proper bell housing adapter kit, the existing GM engine management system that's in the truck as well, it should be fine. I answered my question.
I should be able to achieve 200 hp at 260 ftlb torque

It is the orginal factory engine that was installed in this make and year model. Bosch bought the rights to the engine design that was originally Buick. It is the infamous quintessential POS of the Land Rover.

Except Buick has a distributor, and the LR doesn't.
Unless your engine has a cracked block, the cheapest and easiest route would be rebuilding it.

I don't have the machinery nor equipment for a proper rebuild.

The engine comes out easier if you remove the heads first, to access 4 upper bell housing bolts.
The bare block is only 60-80 lbs.
Is there no machine shop within a reasonable drive?
I'm rebuilding my 04, 4.6 now, and it's way cheaper than any alternative.

Overheated on me on open interstate.
locked up.
Aluminum.
I have a very good, low mileage vortex 4.3 V6. With the MCU, wiring, etc., just sitting here.
so, you mean to tell me that its still going to be more expensive than this?
