Aluminum.
I have a very good, low mileage vortex 4.3 V6. With the MCU, wiring, etc., just sitting here.
so, you mean to tell me that its still going to be more expensive than this?

If you can make it work, go for it.

An adapter for the LR transmission will be expensive, if available. If you use your transmission, you'll have to custom mate it to the t-case, if you use your t-case and trans, they won't line up with the rover rears, etc., etc. $$ Like I said, do a search and see what others have done. It's no cake walk, but anything is possible..

Lol..... Anyone want a land rover? It can still serve as a cart if you have a couple of sturdy draft horses...

Bosch never had any rights to build the engine and the Buick engine was different than the engine that Rover produced. It was very similar but not all parts were interchangeable. Heads were different patterns for one. Rover then had many modifications to the engine over the 40+ years of service. So when you mentioned Buick 4.6 I was not sure if you might be mentioning something that we were not accustomed to.

Plenty of swaps have been done such as BMW m50 and their variants, SBC and LS motors, Merc OM diesels and even LR diesels. I am sure their are many others as well.
