Buzz, I'll make it a sticky if you tell me where you want it.

Odd hose

I have a Land Rover Discovery II 1999 V8 and the workshop manual but the hoses that connect the water pump-termostat and expansion reservoir listed as part #PEH101620 showed in the diagram does not resemble the replacement part PEH000080 , any information conecting the new (replacement) hose model ?

Cooling System Problems Overview

Thanks for the info Buzz! In chpt 6 where can i find the repair kit for the throttle body? I have one that is leaking from there but i dont know if you can repair it or just replace the throttle body.

Atlantic British, British Parts of Utah or the dealer.

Cooling System Problems Review

Thanks for a great summary and review of common cooling system problems.

I appreciate even the basic information, like problems related to buildup of leaves & mud b/t a/c condenser & main radiator. There's so much I can do myself to maintain my D1. Documentation like this helps me understand what's going on with my vehicle, what I can/should do to fix it, and what I should stay away from and let the master techs handle...at least til I get more skilled at this! :)

Great write-ups...

So are you having a problem or just replying?

Cooling System Problems

Hi, Disco Mike. Just replying for right now. I'm trying to get up-to-speed on alot of the Forum info, so that I can then figure out how to apply it.

Although...my "Check Engine" light has been illuminated for a year now; Savannah Buzz suggested I get the "codes" read for that at an Auto Parts store. I ran out of time this weekend, but that is next on my list! :o

I've used LR dealer service depts for most of my LR repairs & maintenance to date, but, in addition to that route being cost prohibitive, with higher mileage on my LRs, dealers just don't want to fix my vehicles once out of warranty. They just want me to trade them in, and put me in new vehicles. That's not my plan since I like my LRs (soon I'll have enough to collect and trade with friends), and I like being without a car payment! :D

So, my real goal is to find a good independent shop for major service needs and to have my son and I do minor repairs on weekends or days off. Wishful thinking, but a plan nevertheless! But, as with every good plan, the secret to success is preparation, so I'm navigating and reading everything I can find on this Forum before I/we dig in.

Thanks for your help and support. :)
