The D2 has a radiator with plastic side tanks and a mounting boss for a screw. The "hole" can crack and leak coolant. Doesn't take much, wrong screw, phase of the moon, mechanic not holding his mouth right, etc. Fix is a new radiator. Limp along home or until next payday is clean out hole and fill with RTV, etc. You are just slowing the leak, the crack will spread from heating/cooling.
