D2 Engine Randomly Turning Off
I've been a long time lurker on this forum but just joined today. I've got an issue with my 2001 DII that I just cant seem to figure out.
About a month ago my disco would fail to start, thinking it was the battery I'd jump it off and it was good to go. I ended up replacing the battery anyway due to age. Things were working fine and it started to happen again. This was only on start up. I found that if I could slightly move one of the terminals on the battery then it would fire right back up. However, over the last weeks its begun to die when driving down the road. Sometimes the power will kick back on and its like it restarts. Other times it just dies, I then have to pull over and shake the battery terminal again. Then it fires right back up. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor thinking that was the issue but I went to start it the other day and it was the same thing all over again. I haven't driven it enough lately to figure out if its going to quit while driving down the road. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

i'd start with checking all connections, not just battery. alternator connections and ground points and if your terminal is coming lose, get new ones

Check the crimp on both ends , where the wire enters the terminal log , and on the starter end as well... and also check the terminal to see if it tightens properly , replace if needed sometimes power is not transfer to and from the battery because of the free play and dirty battery poles..
Thanks for the info. I will check the connections this evening. It's happened (engine shut off) a couple times when I've hit a large pot hole or bump so it sounds like it might be something along those lines.
