Dashboard Curling (Has anybody tried this?)
Hi everybody. My dashboard is curled and I have an idea that, after searching the prior posts, I haven't seen mentioned (maybe because it is stupid).
Has anybody tried taking it off and cutting a series of wedgeshaped lines (running from passenger to driver side). If you take enough material out in this way, wouldn't it do a fair bit of uncurling?

The cuts would run lengthwise on the non-visible side.
After making the cuts, the dash could be uncurled, flattened, and maybe some rubbery paste of some kind can fill the wedgeshaped cuts. After that a board can be set on top to keep it flat until it dries.

I remember buying a fix kit that was nothing more than a trim piece that screwed into the leading edge of the dash. I installed it poorly and it never really worked and looked worse than the peeling dash. Someone else years and years ago when the trucks were closer to new screwed huge long wood screws with wide foreign coins as washers every three or four inches. It looked better and was interesting because of the coins. No help here...sorry.
