Default Daytime running light\s ??

How do you wire the headlights in order to get running lights ?? There is a 5W bulb holder and bulb in the headlight housing, but NO light.. There is one wire that is free coming from the harness. Does this need to be connected in order to have them work ?? The Disco is a '98 US model. I know the Canadian units had these lights. What was done to get them to work ?? Do they operate off the ignition switch ?? Anyone made the mod to get these to work at all times. I rewired one of my Porsches in order to keep the fogs lite with the ignition switch.. Can this be done on the Disco I ??

Thanks for any info... I'm in the process of redoing all maintainance on the car I bought last week, so I have LOTS of questions !!!!

Welcome to the forum, and the world of Landrovers.

I do not have a response as yet, but the 5Watt lamp is the standard sidelight that we use here in the UK. It is also the same one that people use as daylight running. It should be relatively easy to wire up the sidelight 5watt lamps to run as daylights, would assume that all is need is a relay with works from the ignintion supply.
