Hello everyone, new member, living in France Can anyone tell me if what I have been told is correct, in that a Disco can be converted to a Defender 90. Don't laugh, I have no idea

 

Well the wheelbase of a Disco is 100"....so that'll be the one of the challenges.

Many of the mechanicals are the same/similar. Some of the electronics that run a Disco will need to be modified or eliminated.

Bottom line, there are easier ways to get a Defender.

 

Many thanks for the reply seems there's a lot more I need to find out then, maybe just easier to get old defender and restore it, they are getting so hard to get now.

 

If you're in FR, much easier just to buy a 90. Even one that needs work you can just take it apart and put back together. Disco's are way harder to do that with.

No point really in converting one, especially where you live.

 

You are correct I think,,, but finding a project 90 here is like finding rocking horse stuff. I saw one in the U.K on eBay but didn't get in as I was out bid in the last minute.
