Disco 2 NO SPARK! New owner.
Hello everyone. I am the proud new owner of my 2000 disco 2. I have driven it 600 miles so far without fault. It now has 107000 miles and ran great & smooth, until Sunday. She started idling rough at a stop light but powered up & got home. NEVER TO START AGAIN! Cranks but no fire.
Does have the three amigos...but breaks fine
New plugs & wires when I got the car
New crank sensor installed yesterday...tried to start then quit
Has fuel pressure
Timing light test I get erratic flash
Tried the key on/off 3 times thing....nothing
NO CODES...NO SPARK...BUT LOOKS GOOD!

Also...
After attempting to start....release the key back to pos. #2 and it tries to fire or spits. Can smell fuel in the exhaust too.
I did program the garage door opener on Saturday, then Sunday crapped out.
Also have the three amigos....not sure if that would affect anything other than lack of ABS.

Your fuel pressure when running is OK, but, you should not drop back to 0 pounds when not running, the pump should maintain the for up to 24 hours before hitting 0.
Don't swap the ECM, your engine will then not start unless you have the replacement ECM reprogramed with the proper scanner/computer.
I would test the crank sensor for the proper signal, bet it is failing.
So, I guess I am saying based on fuel pressure dropping off and no start, you may have 2 problems.

Thanks Mike.
I have the computer set from a wrecked truck to test, not just the ECM.
A cheap Harbor Freight fuel pressure gauge bleeding down or bad fuel pressure regulator will be the answer to that problem.
I have 3 new "BOSCH" crank sensors. I have experienced finding new parts bad in the box, but never 3 in a row? Not even in the marine field have I seen that one. Anyway, I'm a little busy this week at my shop (My Marine Mechanic, Hollywood, Florida) so the truck will have to wait a few more days.

UPDATE.....
Test computer did NOT do the trick. Although my ECM will start the (wrecked) parts truck.
...Testbook scanned, CRANK SENSOR working properly and still no codes, not locked out....still no spark.
...Swapped coils....checked power to coils.....good.....still no go.
...Checking CAM SENSOR next.....no code stored but....who knows, maybe faulty.
Till next post.....
