Default Disco 2 won't shift out of first when hot.

Hello fellas, My 01 Disco 2 will not shift out of first gear when the transmission gets to temp. I noticed this a few months back. It drives fine when it's cold, but when I drive it for 20 min or so and park it for a couple of minutes then turn it back on and drive away, it will not come out of first gear. I have to let it cool down a bit before it drives normal again. Transmission has fluid. Radiator is only 8 months old. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

1st. Check fluid level and condition. You want it to be red not burnt and you also want to check / fill it while it's running, you can also tell if it's pumping .

likely going to be low fluid level or dirty clogged filter / not pumping

The fluid and filter where changed about 3 months ago and it's pumping normally. Disconnected hose and it has strong flow.

Go to Ashcroft Transmission to the FAQ and I think there is a topic on this. If it does not jive with your application then you can send him an email and he will reply with your answers. I would include all applicable info as discussed here
