DISCO 97 CRAK NOISE
Hi !
That sound may indicate a badly worn universal joint in one of the driveshafts. Put trans in neutral, get under vehicle and check driveshafts for UJ play.
I may also have another cause: gearbox, radius arm bushes, rear triangle ball joint play... One (unsafe) method of trying to find out is lift truck up on an elevator with all wheels free. One person stands under truck to listen/look, other "drives off".
I had a loud drive-off clang once, in my old series3. Could not find it until a kid in the back found that my jack was not properly lashed down...
Regards,
Takeo.
