Default Discovery locks itself.

My discovery has started locking itself, as soon as you close the door it locks.
If I unlock it with the remote it will unlock twice fast and then stay locked.

Not good when I get out to open the gate, got to make sure the window is open or I have a problem, Any idea's on how I can sort this out.. Thanks

Default Similar problem

I have a similar issue, first the background, my remote started acting up, replaced battery but no help, the Red LED is permanently on dim, until the battery dies.

So no remote.
I have been just using the key for a few weeks, all was well, then I noticed that the doors were locked when I did not lock them, both while driving or while out of the car.

I tried removing the battery but it still locked as I walked away after unlocking it.

Then I got to thinking, if you unlock the door but do not open it, will it auto lock again?

So I unlocked the door and opened the door, closed it and it stayed unlocked!

So I think the root cause is the remote :-) So saving up for a replacement.

My old Jeep used to do that. To this day, if I get out of a car while it's running I'll roll the window down out of habit.

Default horn and locks going crazy

I saw this was a recent thread in my search. I need some help.
My issues: The horn is randomly going off (driving down the road, or parked in the driveway)

The car is randomly locking itself. It has locked me in the car and it just locks itself after it is turned off.

I have run the codes and one that seems to be related is P1668.

Any idea of what's going on?

Random horn sounds like a short in the wiring somewhere, or a bad horn button. (Worn out spring?) And for your amusement:

I had that problem with my range rover. it was a lock actuater on the fritz. easy fix once you get thru the door panel. I feel your pain on getting locked out of a running car... been there before.

FWIW - do some research to verify what I am saying next, I think it's the passanger side (on a US model) that is the master actuator that you would want to replace. I had to do my passanger 2 times and drivers 1 time in a 2 year span. also, they have different plugs based on the year, again with googling, either works, cut the plugs and just wire it straight because 1 is cheaper than the other i think or was for me from my searches.
