I am going through the second cooling fan clutch in less than a year. Saw your post from 2011. Did you install the electric fan in your Rover? Thank you.

What is happening to your fan clutches? If it is a D1, try a Hayden 2991

I have an electric fan and would not recommend it to everyone. If all you do is crawl the mall parking lots or daily drive around town.. then ok...

It replaces the stock fan in function fine and the cooling is identical with a proper spec unit...

However the drawback I found is that if the alternator fails in the middle of nowhere you have significantly less battery time to get back to civilization for a tow or repair. In my experience 20 minutes max before all systems shut down and you better have a window down and not lock yourself out. It better be daylight and not raining as wipers and lights will lessen the time you have.

You are literally relying on the electrical system of a British vehicle to keep the engine cool. I plan to go back to the standard reliable crank shaft powered fan next time engine work is required.

I've found no other significant benefit in horsepower or MPG from the E-Fan...
