excess speed warning
hi,
just bought a 96 disco 3.9 auto which constantly beeps and buzzes above the speed of 120kph!!!
The manual reffers to it as excess speed warning. could anyone please tell me if there is a removable fuze, cable, relay... that will just cut it out.
thanks, ollie[:'(]

RE: excess speed warning
Well, I have to say it is a new one for me, and not come across this problem before. Which country was the landie built for, as I see you say your from the UK Ollie in your profile, but talk about the speed in kph.
Uk spec disco's do not have the warning buzzer fitted, unless it is some related to cruise control. (something I have never had)
Normally in the UK spec vehicles, if the manuacturer wants to stop you speeding they just set the engine management chip to not allow it to go above a set speed, for instance my Rover 25 has a set speed of 100mph maximum, yet the revs are only just touching 4000 at that point, still plenty to go before you reach the red zone on the rev counter.
