Default Fluttering lights shortly after start up

I have a 2000 DII. The last few weeks I have noticed shortly after start up, the lights flutter/flicker/dim slightly. And clicks. Then it goes away when driving. When idling at a stop light it flickers and clicks. But, not all the time. What the heck?

Which lights are you talking about, dash or headlights? Have you had someone chek the battery and alternator to verify voltage. have you checked the main grounds at the battery and alternator, how about the connections?

I have the same exact problem, I rebuilt the alternator and no help. I am going to go home tonight and throw an Optima yellow top in to see if the battery was the problem. I checked all the earth grounds, voltage, etc. But sometimes I think a older battery fails slightly enough to have this problem. I will let you know tomorrow.
