Default Foxwell scan tool

I have a Foxwell nt 530, it powers on when I connect if to my computer, but not when I plug it into a car, either my discovery or my wife's fusion. Anyone else had this trouble? What tool are people using for land rover functions? I am thinking about getting an iLand from Atlantic British.

It is plug and play.
Do you have the Land Rover/Jaguar and Ford already on the Foxwell?
is the SD TF card inserted in the side of the Foxwell?

yeah, the module is installed, and I've checked the card a few times to make sure. Another scan tool turns on when plugged in, just not this Foxwell.

You did turn the ignition on right - I know sounds like a stupid question but you need power to the port, position 2 I think

Well I am thinking there is something wrong with the cable or unit itself, two very different vehicles and no signal is a pretty good sign. I am not sure if the ODB cables are generic, if they are you could try a cable from a different unit. The power and ground pins are the critical ones, they will ok at the truck end it is the unit end you need to be concerned with

I've got a craftsman scan tool with a removable cable and they are different from the Foxwell unfortunately. Getting a hold of a human at Foxwell has been so far unsuccessful as well.

Did you try their online customer support ticket? http://www.foxwelltech.com/support/ticket/
Back in 2017, I sent them a message about my NT510 not working with the Discovery 2 key fob option. I got a response within 3 days.

I'll give that a shot, I had not seen that form before. Thanks

I use iCarsoft LRII - works on my Disco II and LR3. Like it a lot... simple, straightforward. Clears codes well. Does most diagnostic readouts. Saves reports.
