Question Fram Tough Guard Oil Filters???

Prepping for oil change tonight and Autozone had a deal on Valvoline full-synthetic + Fram Tough Guard filter. I went ahead and sprang for the deal as the filter was bascially free. (I did not stock up last month when the deal was Mobil 1 oil + filter for the same price so that was my first mistake).

My question is, has anyone had experience (good, bad, neutral) with the Fram Tough Guard Oil Filter? I know the econo Fram filters blow, but hadn't really heard much about their "higher end" filters. It says "tough" in the name, they gotta be good right???

Thanks in advance for your input.

....I usually run the K&N 3001 and I have one as a backup just in case.

I think all Fram oil filters are crap.
I wont pay the overly inflated price for the Mobil 1 or K&N oil filters (made by the Fram guys) either.
I use NAPA, WIX or Purolator oil filters.
I will also use a Mopar (made by Purolator) when Wal-Mart has them in stock for the truck.

Good to know K&N/Mobil 1 are made by Fram, time to find other things to buy at Autozone to get my $20 credit

Interesting read, Tom! I have been using AC-Delco for the past several oil changes, because of where I work, they are considerably cheaper than the Wix. I will no more after reading that!

I buy WIX for about $4.50...surprised you can get considerably cheaper than that.
