Default Fuses 12 & 13 were the source of problems

I replaced fuses 12 (multi-function unit) and 13 (ignition feed for multi-function unit) and not only did it fix the tranny problem (staying in 1st gear), but actually made it start better and brought back the rear wiper and defrost which had not worked since I bought the vehicle. Pretty crazy a couple of fuses can have so much effect. I'm just glad the fix cost me 3 dollars instead of hundreds or thousands! My disco is running good again except the idle is a little slightly higher because I wasturning the adjustment **** on the cable that moves when you press the gas pedal (not sure what that part is called). It's at about 750 rpm when in gear but when I put it in park it jumps up to about 1500 rpm. But when I put my foot under the gas pedal and pull up a little, it goes back down to about 750 rpm. Could that cable or part be dirty orin need of lubrication? Thanx for reading
