Odd, Microcat only lists the ERR7282 clamp for the D1 and DII.
Typically if a part has been superseded they list the old PN as well, but italicized.

If you look up 602076, does it show an application?

My microcat is showing 602076 superseding to both ERR7282 and ERR7283(seal).

It lists the 602076 as dual carbs under the Defender catalog, but shows it under D1 as well, without further description or any VIN break.

So I installed microcat on my computer last night just for giggles. It's pretty cool and even has listings for some of the later stuff, LR3/LR4/RRS etc.

It looks like in the P38 catalog 602076 is for GEMS and the new number is for Bosch. In the D1 catalog, if you scroll down to inlet manifold, but the version that has +MEX/USA/CDN it shows both numbers and like roverguy7 said, no extra info.

OK. I agree the Mircocat has pooped in my litter box.

Now what do I do? I elongated the bolt holes in gasket. 7/16 bolt on front side. Other side the intake is off register and this is about the best I can get. May still need to elongate some holes just a smidge more.

But do I have to drill out the mounting holes on the intake? The end seal limits just how far you can move intake up/down on the sides of the valley. I feel like I have created a Rubic's Cube from a Rover.

And my 3/8 fix a thred pretend helicoils won't fit the 7/16 coarse threads, not sure about "real" helicoils.

Went by store, helicoils use a different thread. I found EZ-Lok inserts (McMaster Carr, Grainger, Fastenal, Amazon); these are threaded 7/16-14 on outside and 1/4-20 on inside, or 5/16-18 inside. I asked what the torque spoecs were, and the EZ Lok people in Gardena Cal said it was 280 inch pounds, but that is spec for the loctite that comes on the threads.... so I wonder if those might be a possibility? But 5/16 are generally only good for 24 newton meters.....

Strictly from memory: are not original bolts 8 mm diameter? If so, you should be fine with 5/16 and all torque ramifications. But I'm not sure this will cure your dilemma: Center is center, and 5/16 vs. 7/16 is only 2/16 or 1/16 edge to edge... well, you get the idea. I still believe you might want to try another gasket. I got mine from AB and like I said, I had to push down hard on the middle to get it to line up, but now 28K miles later, no problems.

Well, if the threaded inserts can only support a 5/16 bolt, that can't supply torque needed. Guess I will have to drill out the intake manifold bolt holes. Not real comfortable with this.

I'm not a machinist, but might be a masochist.....

There is an instruction manual in six languages with the Victo Reinz gasket kit. In block letters it says "this set must be installed by a qualified technician" ... that's where I screwed up...

I can't get the intake to line up, because the new bolts are larger, but I'll keep playing with it. The original are 3/16; and should have been at 38 nm. Instead of the 51 nm I went to by following D2 page....

Guess I can try dry mount of intake to heads without the valley pan, just to see if bolt holes will line up.
