Default Gear four ratio incorrect

OK. My disco has 116k and I drive it about 45 miles a day.
I have a service engine soon light that came on about a month ago.
I had it read and it came back gear four ratio incorrect.
I canged out all o2 sensores and the maf sensor.
I still get the mis read.
Also, My AC condensor fan will not come on. I changed the fuse and it blu the fuse.
On top of all that I have a small oil leak I think.
Please help.

Was it only one code? By mileage you needed the O2's but most likely not the MAF unless you also have 2 lean codes, one for each bank.
As for the fan, sounds like the fan motor is locked up, can you rotate it?

OK, this now makes since. Are you running a K&N air filter?
The codes your are getting usually when the MAF dets contaminated and a K&N is the worst thing you can run in a Rover.
Get back to me.

I would suggest you remove your K&N filter this morning and go back to a paper filter. I keep trying to tell people K&N filter will leave a residue in the MAF and then it is gone.
How much did you pay for your last MAF, I may have a better place for you to buy the next one.
As for the fan, get a new one on there real soon or you will over heat your engine and you don't even want to think about that expense.

That is your call on the fan, might also look on , http://www.roverlandparts.com/, they have pretty good prices and a 90 day guarantee.
As for the MAF, I know Rover puts a 1 year warranty on their parts but if you try and return it they will see the oil residue and denie the warrnty.

Well, that is good news if the codes stay off, just keep that K&N away from your truck.
As for the fan, it is not real hard to replace, if you are at all mechanicily inclined you can do it.
