Default Gears won't engage

I removed the transmission and swapped the fly wheel. After I installed the fly wheel and secured the torque converter I started to put everything back together. After I was done I turned over the wheel and it turned on beautifully. I moved it forward and it didn't move so I added transmission fluid. After adding transmission fluid it moved both forward and backwards. So I took it off for a test drive and as I was driving the check engine light started blinking and although it was in drive it wouldn't move. Today I tried it again and nothing. It shifts and the dashboard shows it switching but no luck. The only codes I get are p1884 and 1590. Any help would be great!!

Also I lifted the transmission up and manually shifted to park and the tires were not in park I could move them with my hands.

did you mount the converter to the flywheel and then install the tranny, or was the converter and tranny installed as one unit?

Sounds like the converter isn't installed correctly.

once again; did you install the converter in the tranny and then install it as a unit, or did you install the converter to the flywheel and then install the tranny?

I installed the flywheel to the engine then installed the transmission and the converter to the engine as a unit.

When It moved but after a while it just stopped engaging...

Did you clock the convertor to tranny before installing? Is the fluid full?

unfortunately, what can happen, not saying it did.

but the converter locks onto the transmission shaft twice, once and then another 90 degree for the second engagement.

if this does not happen, the truck will move for an undetermined time and then just stop, usual because the splines have stripped on the shaft.

I hopefully this is not you issue, but it is a common mistake.

just because you can see the convert spinning it does not mean it is pumping fuild
