Help Please, My 2003 Disco II won't start.
Hi everyone,
My name is Max and I have own my Disco II for about 4 years, It has 137,000 miles on it and yesterday it shut off while driving on a busy street, I waited a couple of minutes and after several crancking attempt, it finally started. On my way home from work same thing happened and this morning it won't start. I took it to a local Autozone to read the codes for the engine light that came up, basically they gave as much codes to write a book, 302, 305, 306, 1300 and others. Last year I had a tuneup done to pass the inspection requirements in New York but I think I robbed. The truck has always have a rough feeling to it even when idleing.
Does anyone know of a good shop in the Westchester area of New York or nearby that is decent? or
is this something I could tackle by myself. I would love to due much of the work and take care of my dearest Discovery myself.
Thank you in advance for time taken to read this post and your input would be highly apreciated.

The classic symptoms of the crank position sensor. When it fails, there is no spark. Then it cools down and truck cranks back up. You can pour cold water on it to test, driver side rear of engine. Or you can carry a spare spark plug to attach to the wire and lay on manifold and watch for sparks when cranked.
About $70 and one hour of labor at a shop. About $70 and one of the great PITA projects if you don't have a helper to dangle it from above. Be sure every bolt and spacer goes back on exactly like it came off.

AB is fine, your plug wires are the oem ones, and can easily be a source of misfires. New wires, silicone type, and 8mm, are advised. It is extra hot under the Rover hood, and the oem insulation on wires breaks down.
If truck is cold, won't start, check for spark. If you have spark, then it is not the CKP sensor.
