Default High fuel consumption on 2006 LR3

Hey guys, I am new in this forum. Please I need your support and guide. I have 2006 LR3 with 195,000km on it. I use it as secondary truck. I noticed on the dashboard ( instrument Cluster it reads 3.1km/L) which I think, it burns so much gas. No malfunction light on the dash. I have used obd11 scanner and everything looks good but not sure why it consumes so much gas. 3.1km/l is way too much.

please I need help on what to do.
many Thanks,

I'm currently facing the same issue. Did you get it resolved? I know the post is a couple of years old but maybe 😋

There are numerous reasons why fuel consumption can be elevated and not all actually pertain to the engine. Dragging brakes, driveline issues, under inflated tires, etc.

The O2 sensors can impact fuel consumption when they've reached the end of their lifespan.

Whenever fuel consumption is too high (calculated by actual readings of the gas rather than the computer readout) start with the basics:

1) Check for dragging brakes or severely out of spec alignment.
2) Check tyre pressure
3) Check tune of engine and ensure spark plugs are in good condition and have proper wear/color.
4) Ensure there are no unusual blockages in the air intake/filter system.
5) Confirm no misfires and that compression is within tolerance on all cylinders.
6) Check O2 sensor readings and see if they are lazy or out of spec.
7) Investigate issues with fuel injectors (clogged, very dirty).

Hope this helps.
