knocking noise from rear

Default knocking noise from rear

I have a 02 series Tdi5 making a strange knocking noise from rear end, can anyone help me?

watts linkage is the biggest possibility, but have a look at the driveshaft too.
you should be able to duplicate the noise by rocking the truck back and forth, by hand, or have someone do it while you creep underneath. roof rack makes the rocking easier


next possibility is radius arm bushings.

not bad to replace the bushes.... www.discovery2.co.uk** Watts Linkage Bushes / Bearing replacment.


are you in the uk? if so best prices on the bushes ar at rimmer bros or padd0ck spares
td5 says not likely in the states
