Default Lack Of Power

Hi there, just wondering if anyone out there can help with my problem. I have an L series freelander 99 model diesel and for some reason everytime I go between 2,500 and 3,000 revs and when I'm climbing hills I have a sudden loss of power and the ecu light flicks on and off and I get the power back. I was wondering if this could be down to a dirty fuel filter or is it something more major many thanks. John.

Nope, electrical as in a sensor or ECU.

Hi disco mike what's the route to finding out whether it's a sensor or ecu, is it a job that the layman can sort out. Thanks John.

Not on a Freelander diesel, I wouldn't know where to point you.
