It could be added that the RAVE includes regular single PDF files which can be accessed either from RAVE or opened (and copied, e-mailed) like any other PDF file with any PDF reader. No specific installation or special software are required.

In case of problems it can be useful to have a look at manuals of other models using the same engine/gear or so as well as models which are not of the same Model Year but still close enough (for example the Discovery I 1995 Electrical Troubleshooting Manual contains diagnostic information useful for the 1996 MY Discovery but which is no longer included in the 1995 Electrical Troubleshooting Manual, also some Defender manuals contain details useful for other models).

 

how the heck do i use these downloads? these are iso images that have to be burned to a CD?

 

Yes. Or you can mount them with a product like "virtual clone drive"

I use Daemon Lite to load ISO files and create ISO files from CDs I want to store on my PC hard drive.

 

x1 likewise, best place on the hard drive as you need reference data so often

 

Does anyone know where to get the service manual?

I notice the WM doesn't have all the procedures under Section 10 "Maintenance".

Takes awhile to download, it was longer than 30 minutes on my DSL connection. PDF "rave-lr" is in there and probably all you need. Save/Move on your drive where your other manuals reside. Open up, go to vehicle type and you should be able to find the manuals you may desire.
