Locking diffirential

Default Locking diffirential

I have a 1998 discovery which i cannot get to go into a gear without hearing grinding noise coming from back axle, is the case locked and the vehicle rares up when i put it into a gear, is the emergency brake locked or case locked or linkage, please any help?

Default

Check to make sure the transfer case selector is in the right position.

Also you could have a rear differential going out.
