Default Missing, uneven idle and hard hot starts

Hi everyone,my 94 discovery, has a few problems which have me at my wits end.Firstly the first start of the day is trouble free, however after that it wont start unless I apply about an inch of throttle.Secondly when I drive up a hill the engine develops a miss(I think its 2 cylinders or more.)This missing can also occur when driving on level ground sometimes as well.Thirdly the idle sometimes fluctuates up and down and eventually stalls,Is there anyone who can give me some advice...I have checked all my hoses etc,and they all seem to be air tight.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dirty fuel filter could cause this kind of problem! It sounds like its not giving enough gas to the engine! Vacuum hoses could cause the idle problem but you stated you checked them and they're fine!

Did you have any luck getting this fixed? I have the same problem in a 2002 DISCO II. Feels like starved for gas. I have already changed plugs and wires, and read nearly every post and thread. Everyone points to plugs wires, or MAF, or vacuum leak. I am sure its not MAF, or plugs, or wires.
The 2002 doesn't have a fuel filter. Only a filter sock in the tank. just curious if you solved the problem?

RoverJelly, your DII and his DI are 2 different animals, whatever he figured out will not work for you.

Go to the DII section and make a new thread with your problem, include the miles and the year.
Include as much detail as you can without making it to long.
