Default My 98 with 12 codes

my ‘98 has 12 codes, six are cylinder misfire codes which I’ll work in with new plugs and wires. The code reader says the other six are “manufacturers codes”. How can I find out what they are? they’re listed here

P1193
P1187
P0158
P1179
P1177
P1316

Sorry, that should be 1 word, troublecodes.net
And most if not all yours appear to be oxygen sensor related.

that link worked perfectly. Now I need to learn how to interpret each code. I’m not exactly sure where each O2 sensor is but I’ll replace tgeokd wires and plugs and find out about the O2 sensors also. Then see how it runs.

It won’t start without starting fluid so a few repairs will hopefully get that fixed

dialtone....

Congrats on buying the truck. There is some very good documentation to be found in the link in my signature.

"RAVE" is the term for the workshop manuals. There is a workshop manual, electrical troubleshooting manual, etc, etc.

You can use an on line resource to find the codes but I generally go to the GEMS documentation which can also be found in the link to the google drive. Look for the "gems_obd.pdf" for all the codes, what they mean, and how they are triggered.

Good luck and don't hesitate to ask questions. You are better off in the D1 section.

thanks for the info. I got the RAVE on my iPhone now so that’s a big help. I have new plugs and will reread the codes after installation. I’ll post up the results then.
