Default My Ghetto Headliner Refurb

I was seriously tired of my stupid headliner saging. I didn't want to wait to get it redone or order fabric. So I went the ghetto way. Here are some pics.

This is what I started with. Removing it was pretty simple. Tedious in that I was super careful that to not break the board.

The foam is nasty. I found the best way to get was a medium stiff brush. Too harsh and it makes gouges in the board.

After brushing this for like an hour. The wiped it down w a microfiber rag. Then brush again w a softer brush.

This is what I decided to use. This stuff fills in the gaps and the textures nicely. I probably should have used a primer. But daylight was burning.

This is how it looks going on. I wound up using about 6 cans. It went on easy.

This is what it turned out like.

While I had it down I fixed rear dome light and added some heat insulation.

I'll be right there! I'm already on my way. Come wait outside for me.

I should have thought to paint this paint. That's a good idea.

I wish I knew how to take apart the fabric on the sunroof. That's not a project I wanted to start w daylight getting short. I'm not happy with the way the headliner meets the sunroof. The foam and fabric filled in a gap. Not sure how to fix it.

The board has a bit of play in the gap. I'm open to ideas. Also the fabric was covering holes for the right hand drive grab handle on our drivers side. Now I have two big holes where a grab handle would be in the UK.

Looks good Shift. The gap I haven't too many ideas on but the UK grab handle provided there's a captive fixing just stick another grab handle there I'm sure a wreckers yard will have one.

I thought of the handle too. I didn't realize it has no clips on that side to bolt one on. Hahah. I'd have to take the thing down again to install them. No thanks.
