im having a problem with my defender 90 i have just converted to a td5 engine from a 300tdi and im having trouble getting over 75mph but i do have 35 inch tires on it ive been to a garage and they carnt seem to find the problem either they have pluged the ecu in and no errors have came up please help me

 

Could be numerous issues, did you use a TD5 defender tank/pump ?
TD5 uses a 2 stage high pressure pump, also things like MAF and the common oil in the ECU loom can restrict performance.

 

Actually 75 is probably maxed out with 35's, are you using a 1.4 or 1.2 transfer case ?

 

The TD5 and the 300tdi are two different engines, you either have one or the other.

If you do have a 300tdi, with those tires 75MPH is all you're going to get.

 

He said he converted from tdi to td5 so i think he knows what engine he has.
