Default Need quick help from an expert

We took our 02 Disco in to a Land Rover mechanic today because the service engine light came on. The guy called back because he can't find the place on the vehicle to hook up the computer that will tell him why the light's on. He called the local Land Rover dealership and they were no help. Can anyone give some advice? I'm really confused as to why he'd have trouble finding it when he's familiar with LR's.
Thanks

The plug is on the drivers side--right bolster area--under the dash

Yeah, doesn't sound like a Disco mechanic to me. Disco mechanic should know where that is.[:-]

You should run, not walk away from that mechanic. All Rovers and amny other vehicles all have the OBD2 hook up in the same general spot, down by the steering column.
Take care.
