Default 99 discovery 2 oil expert question

I have a 99 discovery 2 145,000 miles. At this mileage what would the best oil be.

Depends on what state you live in, how cold or hot it gets?
I would suggest you use a synthetic and one of the larger filters like a Mobil 1-301 or a K&N 3001.

Thank you! South Carolina. I would say in the winter we have a few weeks in the teens. Summer several months in the high 90's.

I would suggest either a 10W/30 in the winter months and a 10W/40 in the warmer months.

I run 10w 40 year round in Georgia, winter here is not bad. The frost line runs from Athens to Greenwood to Camden,below that line 10/40 should be Ok year-round.
