Default new free lander

I nearly signed for an 2005 plate free lander today, but when i went to collect i had what i can only explain as exhaust gasses coming out of the under neath of the front bumber.

now there is an aluminium tube under neath the front bumper right infront of the passenger side front wheel, which points down to the ground.

i checked a few other freelanders and it seemed to be the turbo deisels that had these pipes. not petrol models.

would any one know what this might or could be.

thankyou in advanced.

cheers mark in cardiff, united kingdom

I would not touch a Freelander just to spite landrover for all the issues they have on Particlur models. In this day and age there should be no sleeve's falling.
