New type of locking trolley jack - your opinions requested
Dear GJ members - we've built a new kind of locking trolley jack prototype ... but need to know from real-world jack users, whether it's a product you'd consider buying - and if it's worth our investing in to bring to market.
The demonstration prototype is just a proof of concept - but the finished design would have an additional 4 inches of chassis length (between the lifting-arm and the pump) to allow the locking ring to be operated from behind the lifting arm ... apologies for the crumby mock-up :
I don't see myself throwing out my jack to grab one of these upon release. But as long as it wasn't significantly more expensive than similar jacks (ones with the same specs), I would probably pick one up eventually for the peace of mind.
I'd love some kind of safety locking jack. I wouldn't want to have to put my fingers and hand into moving jack parts to have to engage the lock though....
