Are you sure it is 29 mm? For some reason, I thought it was smaller than that. I'll have to look at the socket I keep in my glove box.

In any case, Sears carries a 29mm for $6.99 (Sears item #00944230000). This one is a 12 pt, but they probably also carry the six point as well. I got the one I use as part of a set.

yes that is the size of the plug. i have a socket that fits, but theres not enough room between the plug and exaust line for it all to fit. i didnt see a 29mm at sears last night, maybe ill have to go up to the counter and ask or something.

that was my original intent, but their selection jumps from 27mm to 30mm even on the website. i ordered one from www.arizonatools.com for about US$30 after shipping, a 30mm cxaftsman is about $37 before shipping.

i think i used an 1-1/8" wrench on my 98' try that it might fit. I don't know if mine is metric, but the wrench i used was perfect.

Be sure to replace the copper crush washer under the plug. A common ' quick lube ' goof.

a 1 1/8th ring and open ender is the imperial equivilent of a 29mm, failing that buy a 12" cresent and use that. and if neither of those option suit buy a industrial fitting to suit as the head size on an industrial plug is 1mm bigger than a automotive plug
