The larger size M301 spec aka PH8A works great. I've used them on all my Rover's. I prefer the Ford, K&N, or Mobil oil filters.

In another thread you referenced Wix 51515/Napa Gold 1515. Here you reference 51512/1512. Is there a typo, or do any of them fit?

Yikes!!

Sorry about that, yes, a typo. I corrected it. 51515 is the PN.

Count me as another vote for Napa Gold 1515 + Rotella. Recently had to do the valley pan gasket and was very pleased by the lack of any buildup on the rockers.

For those who are wanting the best oil filter and results, you might want to do a Google search for the last oil filter performance tests that were done last year.
Yes, bigger filters with more capacity help but comparisons do show a filtering quality difference.
For me, I would rather buy the best for the little extra protection to go with your better quality oils.
Just a thought.

The best oil filter after the manufacture spec ....is the closest one to manufacture spec...

Oil filters may look the same on the outside ... but on the inside it varies a lot ....

some filters have the pressure valve inside , some are just a free flow , look inside the big centre hole of the original OEM One ... and not to forget the weight ... then look inside the substitutes... see if it looks empty ? it may just be regular paper element ... ( you don't want that one ) the good filters have valves to regulate pressure ... and is heavier...

be careful ....putting million dollar oil in your engine is not going to save it from wear , if its not filtered properly ...

Maybe, maybe not. In the case of Land Rover, definitely not.
The two I use, Wix and Baldwin, are a much superior design than the Cooper OE filter.

Or you could just post a link to the test results you're referring to, since you've read it. Especially since a google search doesn't return anything obvious.
