Oil pump not working after starter replacement 2003 disco 2
New member here, I know it said to put my info in signature but I couldn't find where to put that so I'm sorry. Long story short about six months ago my XYZ switch started acting up and I was going to try to take it off and clean it like I had seen some guys do on YouTube. However, as I was trying to remove the single bolt that holds it to the transmission it stopped threading out at about the halfway point and I didn't want to fool with it further as I could at least still move it around the yard and even learned that if I held the heart shift just perfect and made it into second gear it would drive perfectly fine until the next time you had to change gears. Anyway, work for in the way and I let it sit for about six months and now I know I have to move soon so I went out to start it up to move from out front of my shed. Battery dead. Cool. Try to charge, completely flat. No worries, go buy a new battery, starts up and goes dead right after. To be expected after six months of sitting. Go to start it again and it turns over maybe a half turn and stops, smell electrical burn. Starter is bad. Again, cool. But a new starter but can't find the time to put it in. Find a mobile mechanic who will do it next morning for $80. Awesome. He shows up and puts it in while I'm at work. Calls and says job is done, but asks if my oil light has always been on. No. Well maybe it's because it was up on a jack on one side for a bit. Ok. Maybe. Go home and start it up, and oil light is on and it's making a racket, not like a knock, but just a noise. I can't explain it and I know this isn't much to go on, but it ran as smooth as a Land Rover can six months ago and now the oil light is on. I changed the oil and filter and same thing. Is there anything in missing here or did my oil pump go bad while it was sitting? Thanks in advance. Seriously.
