Default Problems after changing HeadGasket-hippo

Ok, First, I´m all new to this forum. I´m a Swedish guy with a huge Hippo problem, please help me solve this as I am about to snap and go berserk at the poor old Hippo.

1. Removed the Cyl.head to change gasket. Changed all the oilsealings in the head aswell.
2. Measured all the liners to 0.075mm above the engine block- seems to be ok.
3. Put a new head gasket on (not the one where you need to change paarts in the oil tray under the car)
4. New timing belt, tensioner and all that stuff.
5 try to start, Won´t start even with starter gas, won´t even try..There is no bad noises when i turn the engine around, there is spark on the plugs, gas comes (atleast it smells so, and the plugs gets wet).
6. There is preassure going the WRONG way in the intake.. Tried spraying starter gas there and it just blows it out...
7. checked the timer belt again, and everything is fitted as it should there....

What can be wrong? Should i re-tighten the top again to 20nm +180dgrs +180dgrs??
Is there anything else I can check?

I do apologize for my poor skills in English writing, I hope that you can atleast guess what I mean...

Thanks, Daniel

Sounds like you didn't set up the new chain and your timing is now way off.
Do a compression test to verify if the chain is off on it's timing.

Its the 1.8l.. No chain just a belt.. I did a comp test and the result is horrible, 6bar!! though the belt is set according to the haynes manual, and checked several times... Can´t get this at all.. My first thought was that the belt was set incorrect. The marking on the crank is where it should be, 2 dots and the line right above them in the middle. On the cams i have intake versus exhaust, withe the line on the cover in the middle. ...

Don't know what else to tell you, I have no experience with diesels.
Let me know what you find.

Hi Daniel.
I assume you have a Freelander 1.8 Petrol.I suspect the camtiming to be incorrect.Recheck the timing marks.Turn the engine so the yellow mark on the outside of the crankshaft pulley line up perfectly with the arrow on the plastic cover. What do you see when you look at the camshaft sprockets? All 4 the marks should line up horizontally and reading from the firewall side, should read exhaust, intake, exhaust, intake.
Regards
Marius
