Default radio code

I disconnected my battery on my 96 disco and now cant seem to get the radio working by entering the code. How should I enter my code? The number I have is 5 digits so Im not sure if it is the correct number.Any thoughts would really help. Ive imported the truck and cant check the code at LR

try holding down the band button until the word "code" appears, then punch in the numbers or try turning radio dile to get numbers to come up.

turn on truck > make sure radio is on and says "code" > enter 5 digit code

if this don't work, leave truck on (at least radio powered with "code" displayed) for about an hour, then type try the 5 digit code again.
if you enter the code wrong 3 times you have to leave the radio on for about an hour to reset itself and let you try 3 more times.

For those that care I was ready to toss the radio but phoned LR one more time to check the radio code and they gave the same number that would not work They advised me to remove the radio and call back with the serial number off the radio case and see if that would help My original code that had worked on a previous entry was not the same code they gave me after I included the radio serial number Very strange but I now can listen to Barry Manilow

If you never took the time to write down the key number in your owners manual, you might better call the dealer with your vin and have them get it for you from Rover and write it down.

Just call land rovers customer service number which you can get from their website. They may have you fax them proof you own the vehicle, like a pink slip or reg. from the car & a copy of your lic. for example. Once they know the vehicle is really yours they can pull up the code via the vin #.
