I have a 2003 Landrover Discovery. When I start the vehicle in the morning and drive about 5 mins the radio and front/rear wipers stop working. Any idea what might be wrong? I have changed the fuses, but no help.

 

the body control unit controls some of the wiper functions.
the next time this happens try holding down the wiper stalk (flick wipe)
the body control unit is bypassed when you do this.
just a hunch, so let me know.

 

Probably you need to check wirings that power the two. Also you can try the suggestion of raid. But I think its the wiring.

would the engine control unit be the cause of my rear wiper coming on by itself and me not being able to shut it off? That happened to me recently, only once. Shutting off the engine and restarting cleared it up and it hasn't happened since. Ghosts....

 

finn dunn theirs no easy answer on that one, the body control unit controls that but
the power goes into and out of the idm/fuse box (a smart fuse box that has some control functions also)
if it happens a 2nd time suggest you start a new post thread.

 

I have the same issue but with the addition of the radio. The fuses are fine and I can't figure what the problem might be. There doesn't seem to be any power going to the fuses that control these devices.

 

I know this thread is a little old now but did you get to the bottom of it?

I to have a Disco 2 with front & rear wipers not working, no sound from radio, no front washers and fuses don't seem to receive any power.

Very annoying, only had it two weeks and it was all working yesterday.
