Default Rear hatch Disco 1 vs. Disco 2

I am in the process of replacing the rear hatch on my 2000,Disco 2 after someone crashed into me. I picked up a used rear hatch but it does not have the "Series II" emblem. ( Im hoping the emblem is just missing ) I took a bunch of measurements, height, width, door latch location, hinge location, and these all appear to be identical to my stock D2 rear hatch.

Can anyone tell me what, if any difference there is between the Disco 1 and Disco 2 rear hatch. As I mentioned, Im hoping that the emblem is just missing.

Thanks for any help.

John

Several different reports on the redesign make a point to note that the rear door skin *is the only carryover body piece* from the Series I to II. So it might well be that they're interchangeable.

Thumbs up Door Skin

Thanks Baylink,

Im pretty sure this rear hatch will fit. I also heard back from the guy I bought it from. He said it came off an"04" D2. This one came with the wiper motor and door latches already installed so It should be a pretty easy swap-out. If it does not fit....my brother has an auto body shop and he will make it fit.

Thanks again,

John
