Rear Ladder
Hello All,
New LR4 owner. I want to attach rear ladder for a variety of reasons.
My question please: Are there any negatives to be aware of here? Eg very reduced visibility, markedly decreased clearance etc? Are there other modifications that are necessary (like roof rails) for ladder to be mounted.
Have not yet taken delivery of car, hence question
Thanks
Jeremy

I installed one on my LR4 and have been very happy with it. Visibility is not reduced in a significant way. The design has allowed for very minimal obstructn. The headrests from the 3 rd row are much more obtrusive.
I only had a clearance issue is a very tight garage. The height was 6'2" and when i put the vehicle in access mode, it just barely touched the big plastic marking the 6'2" height. It should also be noted that the GPS/antenna also rubbed slightly.
as for installation, it really depends on how handy you are and how much patience you have. It took me about 5 houors to innstall. Didn't have all the right tools and the instructns leave a bit to be desired. The rear latch housing also requires the plastic guides to be cut out to fit over the brace bolts for the ladder.
In the end, it looks sweet and has a lot of function. I use it frequently when loading my roof box.
