Default Rear Suspension Air bag

Hi,

I have read the threads regarding this subject but I am still not sure if what's happening a feature or a malfunction. When I turn off the engine on '99 Dicso (180K km), you can hear the rear passenger side air suspension bag lose the air. I sprayed with water and I can see the air leaking from the buttom, where smaller sleeve hides under larger sleeve. So the rear sits low after few minutes of parking. When I turn the engin on, the pump fills it with air and the suspension raises to normal level.

Do I need to replace the bag? The dealer sells it for about $600. I rather not convert the coil since we love the ride of Air Suspension.

If I leave it the way it is, does it mean the air pump is going to over-work while driving and eventually fail? We have a trip coming up.

Thank you.

Default Rear SLS air bag

Hello,
I would say you have a slow leak as you can see the bubbles comming from above the lower ring. I have a 2003 HSE Discovery. So I am familar with the system. So far so good. I seem to be free of leaks. But if you take weight in or out of you car after it is turned off you will hear the SLS system adjust height & air puffs out. I think that is normal. I do have one for sale in my eBay store if you are interested. It is in good shape with no leaks
