LR3 2005

The tailgate suspension bar (which holds the tailgate open) has broke.

Actually the bolt that holds the suspension bar, which screws in to the frame has come loose. The only way to get a nut back onto the screw appears to cut a hole in the frame to get your hand in.

Has anyone encountered this before?? I tried taking down the ceiling but you can't get to the screw hole because the frame completely encompasses it.
