Question Red Rover, Red rover...come on over?

*pic for attention

What's up guys. Wife and I bought a 2014 RR Sport 3 years ago and (*literally knocks on wood) have become fans.
We've done a couple big overlanding trips recently in a different vehicle and have both fallen madly in love with RTT dispersed, "hard-to-get-to" "fun-to-get-to" camping on our travels.
We are going to buy a rig and customize.
I came across, what to me is, a very tempting display. (LINK BELOW)
I'm new to Discoverys. Not new to overlanding or off-roading.

Thoughts on price, condition, etc? What to look for?

*A little insight from me - Cosmetic dents/dings, scratches, stains, etc - We could give a rat's ***. It is a bit annoying that the "rhino liner" looks like a proper ****ty job, but eh, no biggie. (The question is, is it hiding a lot of body rust?) OME shocks were put on somewhere along the line...thoughts? 101k miles seems attractive. I would have to swap out wheels and tires and setup a dual battery system. Would also have to get an RTT mounted, fridge, swing away hitch for spare and bikes, etc etc. The big two concerns to me are regarding reliability and long range driving.

*Word on the street is - there is a LR/RR magician in my town who has a reputable, fair and busy shop about 15 mins from my house. We have fortunately never had to contact him for the wife's ride, but I was going to reach out to him for thoughts as well on what is recommended for immediate attention, replacement, repair, flush, swap, upgrade, etc.

I'm currently waiting on the "dealer" to get back to me.

ANY AND ALL ADVICE IS MUCH APPRECIATED! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

Default Carfax report.

The carfax has very little info on it. Not pumped that only 6k miles have been put on it in the last 9 years...

well, the outer skin on a disco is aluminum. Any rust would be on the frame, behind the outer sheetmetal, or on the floor.

Seller (is literally a used car salesman, unfortunately) says that he wouldn't recommend driving the car over about 50mph with current wheels and tires on it....Thoughts? Simple wheel and tire swap will make it highway ready? Gearing change needed?

I would run far, far away from this Vehicle, at this price. I'd prefer an unmolested D1, enthusiast owned with a maintenance history at a premium price like that.

...sounds like I'm getting too excited then...What would you see as a fair price with spotty service record? He's had it for a while...

That thing has been for sale for at least a year on Ebay. 12K is a lot less that it was going for earlier this year. However for 12k I'd expect it to be darn near flawless. When I see stuff like a 20.00 RF Indicator assembly lens busted, a headlight barely hanging in due to 10.00 clips = that tells me they haven't put a dime into it and are either just flipping it or out to make $$$$$$$$$$$$.

I would find yourself a 100% stock D1 some LR enthusiast owned and cared for. Then build it up how you want it to be.

I also just spotted the stick on truck bumper rubber pieces on the hood which you get 2 at walmart for like 8.00 lol. Very very classy!
