Has anyone tried to repair your self the 6 cd changer unit on a Disco 2.
Its the unit under the passenger seat. Alpine Mod# XQE 100240

I some times have trouble when loading a newly loaded cd holder. Some times you can here it go thru the shelf load check and nothing gets loaded. But, if you tap on the cd holder while its doing the load or alignment checsk it will load and operate fine. I have a friends changer that does a similar thing but if tapped on while doing the check it is still not loading any CD's. Has any one done any modifications such as shimming or adjusting the changer unit with any success without replacing the unit. I am almost sure an alignment or a shimming adjustment would do a fix. Any feed back on this topic would be greatly appreciated. If any one knows were to get a schematic of this unit that would be great. I will do what I can to figure out a fix for this unit and will pass it on. But a breakdown of this unit would help tremendously!!
